SAT 24 OCT, NOON → SUN 25 OCT, NOON
Join us

Join us. Be counted.

Imagine the whole country slowed down for 25 hours. People staying in bed all day Ono & Lennon-style, families playing board games at the school canteen, friends spending the night at museums, concert halls or libraries, colleagues inviting each other for a sustainable picnic, sportclubs organising sleepovers at their tatamis or tennis courts, neighbours taking the time to have a conversation at the sidewalk.

We are using the bed-in as a symbol to protest a rushed society. But you don’t need to stay in bed all weekend to be part of this. Choose a way that feels comfortable and accessible to you.  Even if it’s just a few hours of mindful slowing down, you are supporting the movement.
Every person participating in Slow Up sends the same message:

We are outrunning ourselves and the planet in a system that never allows us to stop.
And I protest this.

SLOW UP YOUR OWN WAY

We invite you all to slow down for 25 hours — from Sat 24 October to Sun 25 October, noon to noon. But you do you.

SLOW UP alone or with friends and family. SLOW UP by staying in bed all day or simply bring the pace down for a couple of hours by enjoying some guiltfree time for yourself, read a book or play a boardgame with your kids without being on your phone all the time.
SLOW UP at home or at one of the participating locations.
If you feel like spending the night at your favorite museum or library, this is your chance.

Yes, I support by volunteering

This movement thrives because of people like you! From preparing for the bed-in to helping everything run smoothly afterward, we need many hands to make it happen. Every little bit helps, and we’d love for you to be part of our team—whether it’s for just a few hours or more structurally. Join us, meet others who care, and help create a powerful, shared movement. Fill out your details, and we’ll get back to you with the current volunteer opportunities.
