Qui se cache derrière tout ça ?

Worried Citizens brings together people who believe in a society rooted in kindness, empathy and fairness.

We organise events by citizens, for citizens.

‍We also believe that nobody needs to have all the answers, or solve all the world’s problems alone. The three of us come from very different backgrounds. Elisabeth is a psychologist and author, Tijs is a musician, and Eline is a communications strategist and author. We each bring different perspectives, skills, experiences and networks to the table. That diversity is part of our strength.

Change rarely comes from one person having the perfect solution. It comes from people bringing what they can: an idea, a skill, a connection, a stage, a camera, a conversation, a network, a little time.

‍You don't have to do everything. You just have to find your place in the network of people doing something.

‍That is what Worried Citizens is about: creating moments where people can connect their concerns with their talents, and turn them into collective action.

‍Worried Citizens vzw is citizen-led, purpose-driven, and always open to people who want to join us. Have an idea? Want to contribute your skills or network? Feel like helping us build the next thing?

Slow Up did not come out of nowhere. It grew from an earlier moment of collective courage. On 20 September 2025, Worried Citizens brought more than 11,000 people together in front of the Atomium in Brussels to Show Up for Humanity. Over 700,000 people followed along via livestream and show up had more than 16 million impressions in press. Together, we  showed something powerful: we have not given up on each other, nor on our planet.

On one stage, 60 artists and speakers from different backgrounds came together, including Zwangere Guy, Selah Sue, Sylvie Kreusch, Zap Mama, Blackwave, Balthazar, Francesco Schuster, Nienke’s Gravemade, Elisabeth Lucie Baeten, Simon Gronowski,  David Van Reybrouck, Max & Venetia Lamanna, Axelle Red, Colt, Adelaide Charlier, Tine Embrechts, Nora Gharib, Omdat Het Kan and Average Rob… By sharing the stage, they sent a clear signal: despite our differences, most people want the same thing: a fairer, more sustainable and more solidary world.

Show Up for Humanity was not just a protest, but a collective affirmation. A reminder that hope is not naive, that solidarity still exists, and that when people show up together, a different future becomes visible.
